Selections for Tuesday 28th October 2014

I wrote an article for my eletter on this subject, focussing on Banker Bets and showing you how we can profit from them.

I’ll list some apparent “bankers” in this post, and time permitting, will try to do this daily. I try to look for 1.1 odds or higher. The goal is to win back your initial stake and bank that immediately, then play on, banking profits every £10 or so.

This is not a strategy where I’m trying to create the biggest odds returns. I want a “banker”, a bet which is obvious.

Yesterday

1pm – Shakhtar v FC Poltava – 1.12 home – Ukrainian giants are usually reliable at homeand this is the Ukrainian cup, suggesting their opponents are lower league. 4-1 win

6pm – Malmo FF v Brommapojkarna – 1.14 home – Bottom basement Bromma are relegated. Season over. Top v Bottom. 8 points clear at the top with a game in hand and 2 matches remaining. This is not a banker. I just wanted to show you why. It’s a dead rubber isn’t it? HJK Helsinki at 1.2 this weekend lost 0-2. Why? They had won the title already. Bayern Munich lost to Augsburg last year. Why? They had won the title already. You get the idea! 2-0 win

Today

5pm – Dinamo Kiev v Karpaty  – 1.18 home – Both Ukrainian Cup shorties came in convincingly yesterday. More of the same today?

530pm – SV Urk v Ajax   -1.02 away – now the odds can be increased by thinking goals. Over 4.5 goals or the nearest market which offers 1.1 odds

745pm – Shrewsbury v Chelsea -1.28 away – only Atl Madrid and paris St Germain have beaten Chelsea recently. Add Shrewsbury town to that…. I don’t think so. This is the League cup and Chelsea are unbeaten away from home in the league up in 90 minutes . We have narrowed it down to draw and away win. I will opt for the away win.

630pm – Novak Djokovic v Philipp Kohlschreiber   – 1.15 Novak. – hardly original but, hey, that’s not the point of the bankers is it! We want “bleedin obvious”

Novak is a semi final or finals man so will rarely lose these early round matches.  1st in the world v 24th and 5 wins to 1 for Novak in head to heads.
