I wrote an article for my eletter on this subject, focussing on Banker Bets and showing you how we can profit from them.

I’ll list some apparent “bankers” in this post, and time permitting, will try to do this daily. I try to look for 1.1 odds or higher. The goal is to win back your initial stake and bank that immediately, then play on, banking profits every £10 or so.

This is not a strategy where I’m trying to create the biggest odds returns. I want a “banker”, a bet which is obvious.

Bankers and Blowouts – the mini-DRT angle.

www.drt.club is my trading service where I do all of my football research. I have noticed that these bankers, whilst sometimes frustrating us with score draws and throwing away 2-0 leads, rarely lose matches. How can you profit? Well are you familiar with football trading? That is, reacting to how a match unfolds in-play? If you are then you would have taken on faith the fact that these bankers rarely lose, and layed Dundee in play , when they were 1-3 up to bankers Aberdeen. Final score ( as you see below), 3-3. How about more frustrating bar stewards like Club Brugge the other day against Mechelen.

Staying with our premis that Bankers rarely lose, what could you have done if Mechelen ( as they did) take the lead? Lay Mechelen! Better yet, what if the match was still 0-1 coming to 90 minutes? Lay Mechelen at lower odds for potentially greater profit! You know what happened next, I am sure. Club Brugge equalised in the 90th minute.

I have already mentioned the idea of laying a team 2-0 up, to lock in profit. Consider the above elements too , in order to maximise the premis that Bankers rarely lose.

Just an added note regarding staking. If the strike rate remains as high as it is, I would recommend staying with level stakes, but re-calculating every 20 bets  which would have produced a bank of 747 pounds from an initial 100 pounds in November. Increasing the frequency to re-calculating 10% of the betting bank every 10 bets does extract a little more profit.

Plenty to ponder there. If you increase the % of bank bet, of course, then things really start getting exciting ( but ever the cautious, I’d have to warn you that it would be a big fall from grace if we hit a losing run)

At this juncture, level stakes is the only realistic staking option as some bets kick off at the same time. If you wanted other options, then select one bet at one time, as long as the next bet began after the 1st bet ended. This way you could employ “reactive” staking.

By selecting one bet for a specific time, the number of bets reduces from 225 to 137. Is there any advantage in reactive staking? Let’s take a look.

http://www.thestakingmachine.com/pro.php is the staking plan of interest, betting 20% of the bank ( as the assumed strike rate will continue to be high), turned 100 pounds on 22 November 2014 into 1356.48 as of today. ( as you can tell I don’t have apound sign on my keyboard lol).

We can employ a higher risk staking I think with assumed higher strike rate strategies. If doing , I would strongly urge you to withdraw initial seed money once the bank has doubled to allow you to employ these higher risk strategies using OPM  – other people’s money.

Yesterday

6pm – Valencia v Eibar – 1.23 home – 3-1

715pm – Setubal v Porto – 1.2 away – 0-2

Today

3pm – Dinamo Kiev v Hoverla – 1.07 home – 4-0 to Kiev away at Hoverla earlier this season. Kiev are likely to win to nil. Where is the value? 1.07 odds suggest a goal before halftime. This Ukrainian match is likely to see illiquid markets on Betfair in the halftime market.

3pm – Dundalk v Bray – 1.15 home – it’s a dodgy old league , this Irish league and is young games wise, but Dundalk are unbeaten this season and have won 3-0 on 4 occasions already.Bray have failed to score in 8 of their 10 matches this season. Looks like a good banker.

4pm – CSKA Moscow v Ural – 1.34 home – head to heads are very tight 2-2, 1-0, 3-4 to CSKA. CSKA could go 2nd with a win and dependent on what Krasnador do later on. Ural could get out of the bottom 4 with a win.

CSKA have only won 1 of their last 5 matches. BUT note CSKA have lost all bar 1 match this season v top 6 sides. All wins v 7th and lower ( play 14th today).  4-2-4-4-2 scored v bottom 4 home and away

Ural have no wins away v top 7  – all defeats bar a 1-1 draw with Krasnador. I am not a big fan of these tight head to heads.

5pm – Volyn v Shakhtar – 1.12 away – 15 Shakhtar wins in their last 16 head to heads. A win takes Shakhtar 2nd  Volyn have only 1 win in their last 7 matches. 3 losses in their last 4 matches. They lost 6-2 to Shakhtar earlier this season.

No defeat in 11 for Shakhtar and they have scored in their last 6 away.Only 3 defeats all season.Shakhtar have won all matches home and away v 8th and lower ( playing 8th today). 2-4-2-6-4 scored recently in away matches.

8pm – Hull v Arsenal – 1.77 away – the relatively high odds for the Arse tells us they are not bankers in the traditional sense. Will Hull really beat another top team in recent matches? 2-0 or 3-0 wins for Arsenal in recent head to heads .Hull are only a point above relegation, Arsenal could go 2nd with a win. Hull lost at home to 1st and 2nd 2-3 and 2-4 so Arsenal really will need to have attackers firing today and Giroud is a bit of a damp squib. Given the part of the season we are in, this is not a banker. Hull could nick it , you never know.

TODAY’S BANKERS

3pm – Dinamo Kiev v Hoverla – 1.07 home – you can leave this alone if you want -I will delay entry into the market. I did this with Barcelona recently and got 1.17 odds instead of 1.09 odds! If I delay too far and Kiev score, well then I’ve left a poor odds 1.07 shot! Halftime is open of course but I have no stats for you to back this up. 1.07 shots as you know should win at halftime.

3pm – Dundalk v Bray – 1.15 home – this is what I look for. Bray have failed to score in 8 of their 10 matches. Dundalk have 4 3-0 wins in 10 unbeaten matches this season. It looks straightforward. Concerns? The Irish Premier Division is not a consistent vehicle.

5pm – Volyn v Shakhtar – 1.12 away – 15 wins in 16 head to heads, like Porto, makes Shakhtar a natural selection here doesn’t it?  2-4-2-6-4 scored by Shakhtar in recent away matches. All wins home and away v 8th and lower. Teams away from home always carry a small risk

With all of these matches, you can risk the halftime bet as per the idea that sub 1.2 odds bets should score and lead before halftime. Today though I am going to delay entry and hopefully get better odds in-play in the match odds market only.We have dodged bullets with Real Madrid and Barcelona scoring 40th+ minute goals to bring the halftime bets in.. This is my strategy -I know some want a “bet and go”

Poor odds today. You may want to ask yourself whether you will set a threshold for the odds you are willing to bet on. 1.25 perhaps as a minimum? I don’t know.
