Selections for Thursday 19th March 2015

I wrote an article for my eletter on this subject, focussing on Banker Bets and showing you how we can profit from them.

I’ll list some apparent “bankers” in this post, and time permitting, will try to do this daily. I try to look for 1.1 odds or higher. The goal is to win back your initial stake and bank that immediately, then play on, banking profits every £10 or so.

This is not a strategy where I’m trying to create the biggest odds returns. I want a “banker”, a bet which is obvious.

Bankers and Blowouts – the mini-DRT angle.

www.drt.club is my trading service where I do all of my football research. I have noticed that these bankers, whilst sometimes frustrating us with score draws and throwing away 2-0 leads, rarely lose matches. How can you profit? Well are you familiar with football trading? That is, reacting to how a match unfolds in-play? If you are then you would have taken on faith the fact that these bankers rarely lose, and layed Dundee in play , when they were 1-3 up to bankers Aberdeen. Final score ( as you see below), 3-3. How about more frustrating bar stewards like Club Brugge the other day against Mechelen.

Staying with our premis that Bankers rarely lose, what could you have done if Mechelen ( as they did) take the lead? Lay Mechelen! Better yet, what if the match was still 0-1 coming to 90 minutes? Lay Mechelen at lower odds for potentially greater profit! You know what happened next, I am sure. Club Brugge equalised in the 90th minute.

I have already mentioned the idea of laying a team 2-0 up, to lock in profit. Consider the above elements too , in order to maximise the premis that Bankers rarely lose.

Yesterday

The mentions all won yesterday despite there being no official bets. Ain’t that the way!!? PAOK – I was right to be cautious. This was 0-0 until the 82nd minute when PAOK snuck in. I was worried with those 2 0-0’s at home enough to leave this. PAOK absolutely dominated this match stats wise.

Ditto Lech Poznan who had a cigar and slippers match last night. 1-5 from the first leg. It was a case of deckchairs out in this match, oh, and we might as well win it with an 89th minute 1-0. Again I was right to be cautious here as it could so easily have ended 0-0.

Celtic were totally dominant and 4-0 seems like a bet missed for me. These 2 slug it out at the weekend too. Oh, and 2 red cards again. Bookings bet at the weekend? There have been red cards galore in the 3 recent meetings.

Today

245pm – Olympiakos v Asteras Tripolis – 1.34 home – not for me! Oly tend to score 2 goals v 5th and lower at home but have only scored 1 v 2nd and 3rd. They play a team 4th in the league who are unbeaten v the top 3 this season, albeit 2 0-0’s, a 1-1 and a win v PAOK 3-0 at home. Oly could struggle tonight.

As you know I look for clean sheets, and Oly have kept 7 in 9 matches and 4 in their last 6 home matches.

Asteras have failed to score in their last 3 away matches with all wins v bottom 4 sides. Am I trying to build an argument for backing Oly today?  The clean sheets and fails to score are what I look for in a banker, but the draw looms large here. A 0-0 last time these 2 met. An inability for Oly at home to score more than 1 goal v top 5 sides is a great concern.

This is a match for the inplay stats for me. The weekend is upon us soon so patience for me re bankers.

The rest of the matches are Europa League matches , a competition I hate more than watching The Voice, X Factor or any of those annoying “Expert panel” TV programmes.
