Whose flipping towel is that?

Ah, the cries of anguished holidaymakers the world over when they realize that the Germans have got their towels on those sun loungers first… again!

The Germans, though, are a bit late to the football show this year and Bayern Munich kick off their season tonight with an apparent stroll in the park v sWerder Bremen.

With the rest of the major (and some minor) leagues up and running, it seems a good time to remind you of your betting niches.

Have you got your niche sussed out for the football? How about…

– Focusing on newly promoted sides? Pescara took a 2-0 lead at Napoli last week only to end up drawing 2-2 (I notified my DRT members at www.drt.clubto this 2-0 lead and we duly profited from these newcomers).

Alaves were bashed by Atletico Madrid only to come away with a 1-1 draw in Fergie time (or as this was Spain, Fergiesta time). Staying with Spain, Leganes beat Celta Vigo on their top flight debut. Have you got a newly promoted side that you’d like to follow this season? It could really pay off!

Focusing on relegated sides? This is what I’m doing in the English Championship. I spoke about sequences recently. Newcastle ended their losing sequences with two wins. How about Dinamo Moscow? They are having a stroll in the Russian FNL with seven wins and two draws. Do you have a relegated side you should be following?

Specific leagues? How about the Dutch Eerste Divisie (Jupiler League)? It plays out tonight and those Dutch guys, they’re crazy for goals man (say it out loud in your best Schteve McClaren Dutch accent). Seven over 2.5 goals matches last week, both teams scored in six matches. And no 0-0s last week. How would I work this league? Second halves , if 0-0 at halftime, could see goals maybe?

Specific markets? I love laying the 0-0 in the halftime score market. It’s a nice market. It’s a niche market and a consistently profitable market. Do you have a preferred market?

With all of the major leagues now underway, decide on your niche and work it this season! Or you can let muggins here do all of the work for you atwww.drt.club… all of the research, pointing out niches, patterns and profitable angles!

I excel in the European Leagues. They are my ‘niche’ if you will. I follow specific areas too, and get to know teams very well over the course of a season. And all of this knowledge tends to translate into trading profits.

From footy to Dobbing

Note I wrote ’Dobbing’ there. With two ‘b’ letters in there. I am not into car park-related shenanigans, thank you very much.

Dobbing is a term for profiting from in-play trading in horse racing. Wherewww.drt.club tackles football trading in-play for instance, Dobbing seeks to profit from horse racing in-play.

The in-play markets in horse races can see extreme fluctuations in the odds. It is this extreme volatility some say can be exploited. This is an area I am really keen on (given the amount of racing there is).

There is one service that looks to Back a horse and then Lay that horse at half its odds in-play, looking to make 1 point profit.

I personally would be more inclined to Lay a horse first and Back it at a higher price but that’s my approach. Easier to pick a loser than a winner!

Dobbing looks to take a 50/50 risk. Here are some great resources if in-play horse racing interests you.

Dobbinday.com – a great free website to introduce the concept to you and get your creative juices flowing. They do provide a free Dobs service but I cannot vouch for the performance.

Patternform.co.uk – register for free and they provide ‘Dobbing racing cards’ which profess to show you which horses are most likely to see a 50% reduction in their odds to enable you to profit.

Betfair.com  – Yes, Betfair itself can be a gold mine of information for anyone interested in trying to anticipate price movements in horse racing markets.

Go to a race at the website. You will see this.

I wrote an article for What Really Wins Money on exploiting these Cash Out Hints. Look for hints where a horse’s odds have halved recently in running – London Grammar’s odds nearly halved in the example above.

Timeform.com – for those of you who are self-reliant, Timeform provides excellent data for in-play horse racing trading.

At the site, click on ‘Results’.

Focus on the Hi/Lo column on the far right. It tells us a horse’s biggest odds in running and shortest odds in running. Youngnedofthehill might enter my notebook here. A Betfair SP of 205.7 and this horse’s lowest in-play odds were 10!

That is quite something. If you click on the horse’s name, Timeform will bring up its last few races.

Below are the last two races. Look at the previous race. A BSP of 553.47 and a low in running of 44! Now that really is volatile price movement and potentially exploitable.

So, with in-play trading the Dobbing way, you Back a horse, then place a Lay bet in at half the odds at which you backed the horse. If the horse hits those odds in-play you profit.

The websites I referred to above go into the maths.

If you want to trade football in-play, well www.drt.club could be the place to go! If you want to trade horses in-play, Dobbing could be the way to go!
