It is nearly time for the October edition of What Really Wins Money. What’s in store for you this month?

Well, I’ve uncovered a proper little goldmine – a free resource where you can find 81 horse racing betting ideas, some of which have me excited enough that I’m adding them to my daily roster.

Making money in horse racing betting is all about that one idea which proves itself over time. I list my favourites from this free resource for you in WRWM. Great news for the Backer and the Layer!

Horse racing trainers are a canny bunch! I also show you a neat trick how to unearth a potential stable gamble involving handicap debutants. It’s a great strategy for reading a trainer’s mind – how he or she goes about ‘manufacturing that win’.

The Patriarch this month takes a contrarian view about first and second favourites. He shows us how we can actually Lay the first and second favourites in certain races at certain odds and make a good return in the long term. It’s all in the maths and the percentages… now where did I leave Rachel Riley’s mobile number?

The Patriarch has also changed his focus this new jumps season and uncovers some great stats for certain trainers when they run their horses in certain races. He’ll be after the Statman’s job!

Talking of The Statman, this month he heads off to the all-weather. As it gets a bit nippy, the all-weather venues increase the frequency of their racing. The Statman has listed some superb all-weather draw stats and shatters some of the ‘urban myths’ surrounding some of the draws.

He also looks at all weather trainers who are hot to trot on artificial surfaces, as well as those who quite simply cannot make it pay!

The Homegrown Systems, available at www.whatreallywinsmoney.co.uk, get an update too. We’re in profit from a portfolio perspective. Some strategies are making the last minute profit run as the end of the year is in sight! I look at results from a calendar year perspective.

There’s also the usual System and Tipsters update. There are a few howlers and obvious scams as well as one or two services which actually seem too good to be true!

Before I go, you all know what a big fan I am of Andrew David, the man behind great services like Little Acorns, Football Bank Builder and Legacy and Saver (he’s the go-to man for our Cheltenham Festival edition of What Really Wins Money in February each year!).

Andrew’s been working on an exciting new product that is ready to launch next week – and as a good friend and colleague has arranged for What Really Wins Money readers to get a special offer to trial this new service.

I’ll be in touch tomorrow with more details – this is certainly worth taking a look at. Keep an eye out for more!

I hope you enjoy this month’s newsletter. I return to Thailand on Monday after visiting family in Guernsey for a few weeks.

It has been great to be on UK time – see you next week in my vest and pants!
