My Market Movers concept began well on Twitter @whatreallywins for Goodwood and Galway, with a nice 20/1 winner on the first day.

On the second day, we hit a biggie with El Astronaute paying out a total of just over 50/1, when accounting for the 10/1 pay-out for just placing! The third day was very tough for the market movers.

It is a concept I still believe in and maybe the rain-effected Goodwood altered the accuracy of the markets.

Away from the horses, it’s all go on the football front as the French Ligue 1, Scottish Premiership and the English Championship and lower leagues kick off. This is when I get busier than Silvio Berlusconi at one of his special parties!

Here begins the money-making! I tend to make a good profit each football season, predominantly from football trading.

If you are a member of www.whatreallywinsmoney.co.uk I will be looking at some ‘bet and go’ football strategies. So if that interests you, give us a trial.

Football really is a great sport to bet in. Unlike horse races, I personally have found it difficult to create ‘rules-based’ betting systems. I tend to be more reactionary to events. I am, however, going to work on ‘rules-based’ betting systems.

One such idea could be to short-list an Over 2.5 Goals market. For example, note matches where Over 2.5 Goals is 1.7 odds or higher.

Then head on over to www.soccerstats.com. You will see tables such as these which are pertinent to Over 2.5 Goals:

And…

Is there a rules-based strategy you can use based on just these two tables? (Once the tables have fleshed out as played matches accumulate?)

Get to know www.soccerstats.com if you want to create your own ‘rules-based’ football strategies. I love that site!

So, welcome to the new football season. Good luck and I hope to pass on some profitable strategies your way as the season progresses!
