Grand Slam Tennis is a profit maker.

I have been sharing some tennis strategies with members of www.delayreacttrade.com and would like to share a couple of examples of how I approach tennis betting/trading.

The time zone for the Australian Open is a little out of kilter with those of you in the UK, but fear not there are 3 Grand Slam tournaments over the Summer months, The French Open, Wimbledon and the U.S. Open.

Williams V Wang.

Serena Williams is a 1.1 favourite here ( £100 wins £10) YIKES! The key to value betting in Grand Slam tennis is to wait until these seeded players find themselves in a spot of bother.

Serena Williams lost the first set 6-4.

It’s 5-4 in the second set, and Wang is serving for the match.

Cue……the traditional Serena Williams comeback. This graph below shows the story of the match from Serena William’s perspective. The market thought she would lose this match, and with good cause. She is a set and 5-4 down 2nd set and Serena MUST break the Wang serve for the match. It is at points like these that you can back a 1/10 shot at 5/1, 6/1, even 8/1 ( if lucky enough!)

Serena Williams won the 2nd set 7-6 in a tie breaker.

It is at this point that you can ‘cash out’ . You backed Serena Williams at value odds when in trouble. Now cash out as her odds drop and guarantee a profit.

Interestingly Serena Williams lost the match but you would still have profited.

The summer brings with it 3 Grand Slams and plenty more trading /value betting opportunities.

From tennis to rugby.

Next month sees the beginning of the Six Nations and I’ll be taking a look at the markets and seeing if there is any value to be had. See you there.
