The Australian  Open is entering its final stages and has been a good tournament for value betting and/or traditional betting exchange trading. The time zone has not been a good one for UK residents though.

Fear not, April 2020 and the Monte Carlo Masters, heralds the start of the Summer(ish) Grand Slam tennis season where there are a whole range of top quality tennis tournaments. I will be passing on some trading/value betting angles in time for the Monte Carlo Masters ( I will be staying with my close showbiz pal Elton John and his wife David Furniture-Polish for this tournament).

From New Balls to Odd-shaped balls.

The Six Nations Rugby begins tomorrow and the only real value available is in directly opposing England who the market makers ( at Betfair at least) have inserted as strong favourites.

1.88 decimal odds favourites for outright winner  ; 1.98 favourites for Triple Crown Winner ; Owen Farrell top points scorer at 2.14 ; 3.1 2nd favourite for Grand Slam Winner ( the favourite is NO Grand Slam winner) ; and 1.65 favourites away at France in the opener on the 2nd February 2020.

The odds are reasonably short in all instances to allow a lay of England , thus covering all other outcomes. All it takes is the potential of a sin bin or red card in one match and England could find themselves vulnerable.

Good luck with your plays. My only other areas of attack are to play via the inplay markets. Look for an underdog to lead, preferably late on, and then back the strong favourite to overcome.

It’s only blinking Cheltenham!

Cheltenham Festival is 6 weeks away but I will be beavering away with the 10 year trends in the hope that I can find some backing and laying angles which I can share with you in time for the Festival which takes place during my birthday ( all gifts gratefully received). I’ll be passing on the real eye-catching stats here in the eletter in the run up to the March Festival.

In the meantime, enjoy the Six Nations and I will see you next week.
