The racing has been dominated by Royal Ascot this week. I hope you have been able to follow me on Twitter @whatreallywins, where I have been working on the market movers strategy I have for big meetings.

Yesterday saw an Ascot largely dominated by the market leaders. My market movers seek to uncover the big-priced outsiders who may be worrisome for the bookies.

The bookies tend to show us (if we can read the patterns) those horses they fear in a certain race.

Results this week attest to the fact that these market movers can uncover some big-priced runners.

Yesterday was tough, but the eye-catcher was Harbour Law, third at 33/1 in the 4.20 p.m. race. I noted that horse on Twitter.

On Wednesday, Aljazzi at 40/1 was only beaten by the favourite in the 3.40 Ascot. Decorated Knight at 10/1 came second, again, in a tight finish.

On Tuesday, Rajasinghe won at odds of 11/1.

Big odds, the occasional near miss, but the chance of a great payout, especially if you use Betfair SP.

I will be doing the same at Glorious Goodwood. I well remember picking the last three winners and a huge-odds second in the last day at Cheltenham.

Big meetings mean liquid markets and efficient markets. It means if we know how to read these markets, we can uncover the outsiders to be on.

I hope to be tweeting this afternoon @whatreallywins, so see you there. I say ‘hope’ because my five-year-old nephew might join in! Yikes!

See you then!
