Thank you for your feedback last week on betting bots.

The purpose for my questions was to get a feel for your experiences, positive and negative, and try to maximise the potential that automated betting can deliver.

With that in mind, I have a virtual private server. (Basically it’s a computer which never turns off. Download your software on the virtual private server and it will run for you 24/7 without interruption.)

If you have any automated ideas, please let me know, i.e lay the favourite in 16-runner races if the odds are 5 or over.

Also if you have any greyhound backing or laying strategies which can be automated, please let me know. I tried a couple of simulated strategies which blew the betting bank! I don’t mind blowing a virtual betting bank or two if it brings us closer to a long-term profitable, automated strategy). So do get in touch!

Next Friday is the first Friday of March and we will be oh-so-close to the Cheltenham Festival. I’ll be getting my tips from Andrew David’s article in February’s edition of What Really Wins Money. Why desert him? He’s knocked it out of the park on each occasion he’s been kind enough to take the time to write form for the newsletter.

The fact he has to write in February though means we miss the news between then and the Festival. Thistlecrack is now not running at Cheltenham. And Willie Mullin’s runner Limini might be worth sticking in the notebook, for a possible run in the Champion Hurdle after a hugely impressive win in Punchestown recently.

And the old boy Cue Card, rather like the Duracell Bunny, seems to still have life in the old hooves yet: winning the Ascot Chase last Saturday has put him back into Gold Cup contention. Along with stable-mate Native River, they might be worth dutching?

I’ll be working through all of the trends for you coming up to Festival start, but can only get going once the race cards are finalised. I’ll share the profiles here if I can or via a Twitter feed so you can access it.

For the latest Cheltenham news, here’s another website to add to your collection: http://www.newsnow.co.uk/h/Sport/Horse+Racing/Cheltenham+Festival. It provides up-to-date links to all breaking news pertaining to the Festival. Make sure you choose the ‘Latest News’ tab for a round up of the biggest stories.

With the Cheltenham Festival around the corner, I’m more excited than I was when a reader sent me a signed Kelly Brook photo!
