I wrote an article for my eletter on this subject, focussing on Banker Bets and showing you how we can profit from them.

I’ll list some apparent “bankers” in this post, and time permitting, will try to do this daily. I try to look for 1.1 odds or higher. The goal is to win back your initial stake and bank that immediately, then play on, banking profits every £10 or so.

This is not a strategy where I’m trying to create the biggest odds returns. I want a “banker”, a bet which is obvious.

Bankers and Blowouts – the mini-DRT angle.

www.drt.club is my trading service where I do all of my football research. I have noticed that these bankers, whilst sometimes frustrating us with score draws and throwing away 2-0 leads, rarely lose matches. How can you profit? Well are you familiar with football trading? That is, reacting to how a match unfolds in-play? If you are then you would have taken on faith the fact that these bankers rarely lose, and layed Dundee in play , when they were 1-3 up to bankers Aberdeen. Final score ( as you see below), 3-3. How about more frustrating bar stewards like Club Brugge the other day against Mechelen.

Staying with our premis that Bankers rarely lose, what could you have done if Mechelen ( as they did) take the lead? Lay Mechelen! Better yet, what if the match was still 0-1 coming to 90 minutes? Lay Mechelen at lower odds for potentially greater profit! You know what happened next, I am sure. Club Brugge equalised in the 90th minute.

I have already mentioned the idea of laying a team 2-0 up, to lock in profit. Consider the above elements too , in order to maximise the premis that Bankers rarely lose.

Just an added note regarding staking. If the strike rate remains as high as it is, I would recommend staying with level stakes, but re-calculating every 20 bets  which would have produced a bank of 747 pounds from an initial 100 pounds in November. Increasing the frequency to re-calculating 10% of the betting bank every 10 bets does extract a little more profit.

Plenty to ponder there. If you increase the % of bank bet, of course, then things really start getting exciting ( but ever the cautious, I’d have to warn you that it would be a big fall from grace if we hit a losing run)

At this juncture, level stakes is the only realistic staking option as some bets kick off at the same time. If you wanted other options, then select one bet at one time, as long as the next bet began after the 1st bet ended. This way you could employ “reactive” staking.

By selecting one bet for a specific time, the number of bets reduces from 225 to 137. Is there any advantage in reactive staking? Let’s take a look.

http://www.thestakingmachine.com/pro.php is the staking plan of interest, betting 20% of the bank ( as the assumed strike rate will continue to be high), turned 100 pounds on 22 November 2014 into 1356.48 as of today. ( as you can tell I don’t have apound sign on my keyboard lol).

We can employ a higher risk staking I think with assumed higher strike rate strategies. If doing , I would strongly urge you to withdraw initial seed money once the bank has doubled to allow you to employ these higher risk strategies using OPM  – other people’s money.

Yesterday

7pm – Emmen v Telstar – 1.35 homeover 1.5 goals at 1.16- 4-0

7pm – NEC Nijmegen v Jong Ajax – 1.22 home- 2-1

19:45 UK Celtic v Dundee – 1.17 home – 5-0

Today

Really tough day today. A lot of must win shorties and a lot of other shorties in must win matches for both sides. Remember – in desperate times you get the Hull 1 – Liverpool 0 type of results.

12:15 UK Wolves v Millwall – 1.33 home  – Wolves simply must win to give themselves a chance of a play-off place. Anything else will simply not do. 0-2 and 3-3 for Wolves in head to heads so they can score against a Millwall side who are relegated.

12:15 UK Brentford v Wigan – 1.36 home – another must win for Brentford to give themselves the chance of a play-off place against an already relegated Wigan.2 consecutive 2-2 draws for Brentford must end today.0-0 the last time these 2 met.

12:15 UK Derby v Reading – 1.4 home – a win assures a play-off place and a draw may see them safe anyway.

Reading will not benefit from a win.Derby won 0-3 away in October 2014

14:30 UK Wolfsburg v Hannover 96 – 1.44 home – 5 consecutive wins for…..Hannover ended with a Wolf win in the last head to head.

Both teams need points. Wolf are destined for 2nd you feel but Hannover are 1 point above relegation.

Given the Hannover head to head record, this is not really a banker is it?

15:00 UK Liverpool v QPR – 1.33 home – Liverpool draw 0-0 with West Brom, lost 1-0 to Hull and face another struggler in QPR. Liverpool are poor at home to 15th and lower in the league, poor in recent form, and poor v Hull and West Brom. QPR though have lost to all top 15 bar 1 match, conceded 2+ goals in defeat to top 12 away, and Liverpool are excellent at home , only beaten by Chelsea and United since September 27th.

An argument  can be made for opposing Liverpool, and backers would need faith in their solidity at Anfield in order to back them.

15:00 UK Cordoba v Barcelona – 1.12 away – 0-2 and 0-5 for Barcelona recently v Cordoba. Yes they will win, but can we enhance the odds with a halftime bet? It’s a little more risky as Barca are away from home. Cordoba have failed to score in 7 of their last 10 so we will need Barca to get a goal before halftime. Barca have led at halftime in their last 5 matches.

Bottom v top in La Liga

16:00 UK Lyon v Evian – 1.28 home – Evian go out of the bottom 3 with a win, Lyon MUST win having drawn against Riems lately and letting Marseille in. Lyon go temporarily top with a win today.

Only 1 loss in 15 at home for Lyon, 3-2-2-4 scored in recent matches.  3-0 and 2-3 wins for Lyon in head to heads.

Evian have only 2 wins in their last 10 away BUT only 1 loss in their last 5 away. They have lost all away matches v top 10 and failed to score away v top 5.

5pm – Atl Madrid v Ath Bilbao – 1.43 home – you don’t score , you don’t win. Ath Bilbao have failed to score away to teams above them in the league. Atl Madrid love the number 2, scoring 2 in all home matches v 7th and lower. Atl Madrid have 8 wins in their last 9 at home, and have led at halftime in 15 of 17 home matches. Ath Bilbao have only lost 2 of their last 12 matches, but have that trouble scoring v the best.

5pm – Fenerbahce v Balikesirspor – 1.18 home – Fener go top by 2 points with a win. They have though worryingly only scored 1-1-1-1-1-5-1-1 in recent matches but managed 3 consecutive 1-0 wins. Against 13th and lower though at home, they scored 3-2-2-3 but are yet to play the bottom 2 ( Balik are bottom).

Balik have lost all away v top 10 bar a 2-2 draw and have scored and conceded in their last 7 matches.

17:30 UK Man Utd v West Brom – 1.36 home – United go temporarily 2nd with a win, 0-3 and 2-2 last 2 head to heads, saw United lucky to escape with a draw.

6 match United winning streak at home,  3-3-2-3-3-4 scored recently at home.2 consecutive United losses without scoring came away.West Brom have only 1 win in 11 aways and have not beaten the top 5 home or away .

We always face the Pulis factor especially as West Brom are only 7 points from safety with Sunderland having a game in hand. United failing to score in 2 matches could be music to Pulis’s defensive ears. If Falcao plays, then this makes United even more unappealing.

6pm – Gil Vicente v Benfica – 1.21 away – 8 Benfica wins in the last 9 head to heads, but in the last head to head at Gil, 1-1 draw. this is 17th v 1st.
Gil have failed to score in their last 4 at home, only 1 win in 9, only 4 clean sheets all season, lost at home to all top 5, fail to score more than a single goal in a home match , and have failed to score in 4 of 5 matches played v top 4.

8 wins for Benfica ended with a 0-0 v Porto. All wins home and away v 10th and lower. No bottom 3 side has yet to score against Benfica.

TODAY’s BANKERS

15:00 UK Cordoba v Barcelona – 1.12 away – 1.09 odds at Betfair suggest a goal before halftime. It is riskier doing it away from home, but Barca have scored before halftime in their last 5 matches.

5pm – Atl Madrid v Ath Bilbao – 1.43 home – my hope here? Madrid continue to score 2 goals at least and Bilbao continue to fail to score v the top 5 away

5pm – Fenerbahce v Balikesirspor – 1.18 home – a real worry that Fener are only scoring 1 of late but they have scored 3-2-2-3 v bottom sides at home so I hope this sparks them into life. Another risky top v bottom match at this time of year.

6pm – Gil Vicente v Benfica – 1.21 away – bottom v top matches at this time of year are risky but a hope Gil continue to falter infront of goal and fail to keep clean sheets.

It is at this time of the year that we get Hull 1 Liverpool 0 so fair warning today for the matches where both teams need something. This is why I have left Liverpool and Man Utd alone today. Lyon and Evian both need points. I expect Lyon to score but they cocked it up against Reims. I have missed the 12 15pm kick offs. I would have gone with Wolves here.
