Selections for Saturday 28th March 2015

I wrote an article for my eletter on this subject, focussing on Banker Bets and showing you how we can profit from them.

I’ll list some apparent “bankers” in this post, and time permitting, will try to do this daily. I try to look for 1.1 odds or higher. The goal is to win back your initial stake and bank that immediately, then play on, banking profits every £10 or so.

This is not a strategy where I’m trying to create the biggest odds returns. I want a “banker”, a bet which is obvious.

Bankers and Blowouts – the mini-DRT angle.

www.drt.club is my trading service where I do all of my football research. I have noticed that these bankers, whilst sometimes frustrating us with score draws and throwing away 2-0 leads, rarely lose matches. How can you profit? Well are you familiar with football trading? That is, reacting to how a match unfolds in-play? If you are then you would have taken on faith the fact that these bankers rarely lose, and layed Dundee in play , when they were 1-3 up to bankers Aberdeen. Final score ( as you see below), 3-3. How about more frustrating bar stewards like Club Brugge the other day against Mechelen.

Staying with our premis that Bankers rarely lose, what could you have done if Mechelen ( as they did) take the lead? Lay Mechelen! Better yet, what if the match was still 0-1 coming to 90 minutes? Lay Mechelen at lower odds for potentially greater profit! You know what happened next, I am sure. Club Brugge equalised in the 90th minute.

I have already mentioned the idea of laying a team 2-0 up, to lock in profit. Consider the above elements too , in order to maximise the premis that Bankers rarely lose.

Yesterday

19:45 UK Slovenia v San Marino – 1.03 home – Slovenia win to nil at 1.28 – 6-0  – 1-0 at halftime.

19:45 UK Slovakia v Luxembourg – 1.1 home ( update – 1.2 just before kick off)- 3-0 3-0 at halftime.

19:45 UK England v Lithuania – 1.12 home – 4-0 – 2-0 at halftime.

19:45 UK Liechtenstein v Austria – 1.18 away ( update 1.21 just before kick off)0-5 – 0-2 at halftime.

I just included the halftime scores incase you were enticed to increase the odds by backing each side to win at halftime. I also had a superb accumulator come in, as featured on my eletter. It was an over 2.5 goals accumulator on England, Slovakia, Austria and Switzerland which returned about 80 quid to a tenner stake. Not bad for a bunch of shorties.

I also did 2 accumulators yesterday, on Slovenia to win to nil, Slovakia, England, Austria and a 2nd acca including The New Saints from the Welsh Premier League.

I was worried about San Marino somehow nicking a goal. Thankfully they didn’t.

Today

15:00 UK Sheff Utd v Crewe – 1.33 home – play-off spor for Sheff Utd is their priority now.

They have not lost at home in the 11 matches played 11th and lower. In Crewe,  we have a team who have conceded 2+ goals in all away matches v top 10. Crewe are on a 5 match losing streak away too

15:00 UK Rangers v Cowdenbeath – 1.2 home – 0-0 last time but remember the 24+ shots on goal for Rangers . Surely they will not repeat this terrible attacking performance?

5-1-10-4 conceded by Cowdenbeath in their last 4 away matches. A 0-2 away win for Rangers away at Hibs is promising as regards a goal being scored today

15:00 UK Forfar v Stirling – 1.25 home – Stirling have conceded in their last 26 matches . Forfar have 3 recent home wins 1-0 only. That is a slight worry. 1-0 opens itself up to a fluke equaliser.

Forfar could go top with a win today.Stirling have only 1 win in 13 away matches ( yes it does not wholly discount the draw of course).Stirling have conceded 2-1-4-4-1 in recent aways so a hope they are as leaky today as they were in 2 of their recent 3 away matches.

17:00 UK Czech Republic v Latvia – 1.25 home – this should be an easy enough assignment for a fully tuned up Czech side against a Latvia struggling to score away from home. On close inspection, Czechs have been extremely lucky to win 2-1 at home but the opponents they meet today are such a drop in class that luck should not really play a part.  Wins care of a 90th minute and an own goal at home is a worry.

19:45 UK Holland v Turkey – 1.4 home – quite amazing form at home in euro qualifiers. Dutch are unbeaten since the 1970’s. Currently they are poor though in qualifiers. Holland lost to the Czechs and Iceland.

19:45 UK Andorra v Bosnia – 1.05 away – this Bosnia side are struggling. Strange given they had the 2 highest scorers in European World Cup qualifiers .2-6-4-5 conceded by Andorra. I would want a halftime Bosnia win or a Bosnia win to nil, but they have been in such dire form this euro campaign that they are nowhere near as reliable as Slovenia looked yesterday.

19:45 UK Belgium v Cyprus – 1.14 home – one of life’s great mysteries. A 1-1 draw with Bosnia and 0-0 with Wales , and with THAT Belgian squad? Benteke, Mertens, Witsel, Hazard, Fellaini, Kompany, Vertonghen, Courtois and Mignolet. Superb stuff

Cyprus beat Bosnia, and lost to Israel and Wales 1-2. Logically, Belgium should simply outscore Cyprus and with a solid defence , magnificent midfield and nearly solid forward line, they should have too much for Cyprus.

TODAY’S BANKERS

15:00 UK Sheff Utd v Crewe – 1.33 home – if Crewe keep conceding 2+ goals away to top 10, surely the Blades will make Sean Bean smile by outscoring Crewe?  Crewe have lost to all top 10 away and Sheff Utd are unbeaten at home v 11th and lower.

15:00 UK Rangers v Cowdenbeath – 1.2 home – I’m a real glutton for punishment. Rangers let us down 0-0 last time they were bankers against this lot. I expect McCall to ensure they hit the back of the net this time after a staggering shots count for a 0-0 last time!

17:00 UK Czech Republic v Latvia – 1.25 home – Latvia failed to score in 5 of their last 6 away matches. Czechs as you read were very lucky at home but that was against Iceland and Netherland who have beaten latvia very convincingly.

19:45 UK Belgium v Cyprus – 1.14 home – hugely under-whelming Belgians must win or they could see their European dreams in tatters. Cyprus have been competitive, losing 2-1 to Israel and Wales, but Belgium have a world class defence, Hazard the magician in midfield and a reasonable forward line. I hope they outscore Cyprus.
