Selections for Tuesday 27th January 2015

This is a new idea of mine which has made 50+ points profit in recent months. I hope it continues. Here’s what I do.

Go to www.racingpost.com. Look at handicap races only.

Note down apparent price gappers. Here are some examples.

14 100 sthl Betting forecast: 2/1 Admirable Art, 9/2 Lendal Bridge,

8 330 lingfield Betting forecast: 9/4 Done Dreaming, 4/1 Ghost Train, 4th 7.17

The number 14 and 8 refers to the number of runners. We need to know this because we are place only betting ( usually 3 places in 8+ runner races and 2 places in 7 runner and less races).

The Betting Forecast is taken from the race cards at www.racingpost.com.

We lay the first named horse in the betting forecast, in the place only market at www.betfair.com and note we lay to a fixed liability rather than a fixed stake.

i.e. I lay to lose £10 rather than lay to win £10.

The great advantage here is that we can “bet and go” using Betfair SP.

Do note this is not for everyone. There could be long periods of wins, i.e. us layers lose. When we get a successful lay, we win more than the fixed liability. That is the advantage of laying odds on shots.

Yesterday

6 510 wolves Betting forecast: 11/10 Apparatchika, 7/2 Toptempo, 1st 1.98 1.26

Today

9 410 sthl Betting forecast: 15/8 Eium Mac, 11/4 Risk ´n´ Reward
9 130 taunton Betting forecast: 11/8 Aroseforoscar, 5/1 Unefille De Guye,
6 400 taunton Betting forecast: 11/8 Milosam, 4/1 Mrs Jordan,

Quite clearly January is not profitting as a laying strategy….just yet. The 50 quick points profit which got me excited has not been currently replicated. November and December’s performance as a lay strategy was excellent. I will carry on monitoring here and see what the long-term brings. The more results, the clearer the picture .
