Selections for Friday 27th February 2015

I wrote an article for my eletter on this subject, focussing on Banker Bets and showing you how we can profit from them.

I’ll list some apparent “bankers” in this post, and time permitting, will try to do this daily. I try to look for 1.1 odds or higher. The goal is to win back your initial stake and bank that immediately, then play on, banking profits every £10 or so.

This is not a strategy where I’m trying to create the biggest odds returns. I want a “banker”, a bet which is obvious.

Bankers and Blowouts – the mini-DRT angle.

www.drt.club is my trading service where I do all of my football research. I have noticed that these bankers, whilst sometimes frustrating us with score draws and throwing away 2-0 leads, rarely lose matches. How can you profit? Well are you familiar with football trading? That is, reacting to how a match unfolds in-play? If you are then you would have taken on faith the fact that these bankers rarely lose, and layed Dundee in play , when they were 1-3 up to bankers Aberdeen. Final score ( as you see below), 3-3. How about more frustrating bar stewards like Club Brugge the other day against Mechelen.

Staying with our premis that Bankers rarely lose, what could you have done if Mechelen ( as they did) take the lead? Lay Mechelen! Better yet, what if the match was still 0-1 coming to 90 minutes? Lay Mechelen at lower odds for potentially greater profit! You know what happened next, I am sure. Club Brugge equalised in the 90th minute.

I have already mentioned the idea of laying a team 2-0 up, to lock in profit. Consider the above elements too , in order to maximise the premis that Bankers rarely lose.

Yesterday

The mention Inter Milan won, with the help of a red card for Celtic.

Today

3pm – Levski Sofia v Haskovo – 1.15 home – another 1st match post Winter Break means there is no form from December 2014 onwards to work with. What we have is Levski scoring 2-4-3 in head to heads, Haskovo winning only 2 matches all season and losing all away matches.

Levski only had a run of 2 wins in 9 matches prior to the Winter Break which is a concern.

6pm – Galatasaray v Kayseri Erciyesspor – 1.3 home – 3 consecutive wins for Gala in head to heads.

Galatasary

  • no defeat in 11 matches ,scoring in all
  • only 3 defeats all season, one came at home
  • have scored 2 goals at least in 5 of the 6 matches played against 10th in the league and lower
  • 9 wins in their last 11 matches
  • have scored 2+ goals in 8 home matches

Kayseri

  • conceded in their last 8 away matches
  • only 1 away win
  • 6 defeats in their last 8 matches.

I am not too keen on matches where both teams score because it requires the favourite to score 2/3 to win.

Gala are having a rare old season though and we see recent winning form v recent losing form , a contrast I like.

7pm – Almere City v Jong PSV Eindhoven – 1.57 home – if the away side have only 1 win away, then logically we are looking at a home win or a draw. Almere only lost one of their last 8 . Almere don’tlook like bankers.

7pm – NEC Nijmegen v Roda JC – 1.61 home – 12 match home winning streak which is why I keep returning to this lot. NEC have scored 3+ goals in 10 of their last 12 matches.

only 3 away losses for Roda is a slight concern. A chance both teams could score.

7pm – Sparta Rotterdam v Jong FC Twente – 1.33 home – head to heads point to tight match.5 consecutive home wins ended with a loss last time out for Sparta.

No win in 5 away for Jong Twente. I am put off by the very very tight head to heads. Dare I remind you of Fenerbahce v Akhisar?

730pm – B Munich v FC Koln – 1.11 home – 14 goals in 2 matches for Bayern sees them with the ability to score as per the odds ( 4+ goals expected from 1.11 shots). Enhance the odds with  a halftime bet on Bayern Munich.

Bayern have failed to score less than 2 goals in only 2 home matches.

Bayern have kept 3 consecutive clean sheets, scoring 16 goals.

Koln have failed to score in 3 of their last 4 matches. They have kept 5 0-0’s at halftime away so it’s faith in Bayern’s goalscoring potential.

730pm – Marseille v Caen – 1.4 home

Marseille

  • no defeat in 12 at home , scoring in all matches.
  • scored 2+ goals in 12 home matches.

Caen

  • conceded in their last 8 away matches.
  • have only won 1 match home and away v top 12 sides.
  • conceded 3-2-2 v top 4 sides away and drew 2 of those 2-2
  • A recent 2-2 with PSG might tell us more about PSG blowing a 2-0 lead than Caen’s capabilities.

It seems an on-form Marseille will score 2 at least. They are undefeated at home so a 2-2 will scupper a bet. Surely not a 2nd consecutive 2-2 for Caen against a top 2 side?

730pm – Standard Liege v Cercle Brugge – 1.35 home – Scraped home when last bankers

Standard

  • 4 match home winning streak
  • have scored 2+ goals in 8 of 9 home matches against teams below them in the league.
  • 2-2-3-3 scored in their last 4 home matches.

Cercle

  • no win in 5 matches
  • only 2 away wins v 6th and 11th
  • have not beaten any top 5 side home or away
  • conceded 2 in each of their last 3 matches.

Standard only lose v top 11 this season suggesting win/draw v 14th today. Standard should score 2 goals today and Cercle, for their part, have conceded 2 goals in their last 3 matches.

BANKERS

3pm – Levski Sofia v Haskovo – 1.15 home – could be caught with my pants down here with the first match post Winter Break but I see Levski scoring 3/4 goals in head to heads ( as the 1.15 quote suggests today). A hope Haskovo keep losing away as they have this season. Haskovo have only 2 wins all season

6pm – Galatasaray v Kayseri Erciyesspor – 1.3 home – Gala could need to score 2+ goals to win today, but with 9 wins in 11 matches and with Kayseri losing 6 of their last 8 matches, a hope this pattern continues today with home advantage .

730pm – B Munich v FC Koln – 1.11 home – Bayern have scored 14 goals to nil in the last 2 matches. That should continue today. The odds are 1.43 for Bayern to win at halftime. It is a risk as Koln have kept 5 0-0’s at halftime away but surely an above average chance.

730pm – Marseille v Caen – 1.4 home – Marseille should score 2 at least today if on-form. I would trade out at 2-0 if we are lucky enough to reach that scoreline early . I don’t expect Caen to pull out another 2-2 v a top 2 side away from home. Faith then in Marseille continuing to score 2+ goals.
