I wrote an article for my eletter on this subject, focussing on Banker Bets and showing you how we can profit from them.

I’ll list some apparent “bankers” in this post, and time permitting, will try to do this daily. I try to look for 1.1 odds or higher. The goal is to win back your initial stake and bank that immediately, then play on, banking profits every £10 or so.

This is not a strategy where I’m trying to create the biggest odds returns. I want a “banker”, a bet which is obvious.

Bankers and Blowouts – the mini-DRT angle.

www.drt.club is my trading service where I do all of my football research. I have noticed that these bankers, whilst sometimes frustrating us with score draws and throwing away 2-0 leads, rarely lose matches. How can you profit? Well are you familiar with football trading? That is, reacting to how a match unfolds in-play? If you are then you would have taken on faith the fact that these bankers rarely lose, and layed Dundee in play , when they were 1-3 up to bankers Aberdeen. Final score ( as you see below), 3-3. How about more frustrating bar stewards like Club Brugge the other day against Mechelen.

Staying with our premis that Bankers rarely lose, what could you have done if Mechelen ( as they did) take the lead? Lay Mechelen! Better yet, what if the match was still 0-1 coming to 90 minutes? Lay Mechelen at lower odds for potentially greater profit! You know what happened next, I am sure. Club Brugge equalised in the 90th minute.

I have already mentioned the idea of laying a team 2-0 up, to lock in profit. Consider the above elements too , in order to maximise the premis that Bankers rarely lose.

Just an added note regarding staking. If the strike rate remains as high as it is, I would recommend staying with level stakes, but re-calculating every 20 bets  which would have produced a bank of 747 pounds from an initial 100 pounds in November. Increasing the frequency to re-calculating 10% of the betting bank every 10 bets does extract a little more profit.

Plenty to ponder there. If you increase the % of bank bet, of course, then things really start getting exciting ( but ever the cautious, I’d have to warn you that it would be a big fall from grace if we hit a losing run)

At this juncture, level stakes is the only realistic staking option as some bets kick off at the same time. If you wanted other options, then select one bet at one time, as long as the next bet began after the 1st bet ended. This way you could employ “reactive” staking.

By selecting one bet for a specific time, the number of bets reduces from 225 to 137. Is there any advantage in reactive staking? Let’s take a look.

http://www.thestakingmachine.com/pro.php is the staking plan of interest, betting 20% of the bank ( as the assumed strike rate will continue to be high), turned 100 pounds on 22 November 2014 into 1356.48 as of today. ( as you can tell I don’t have apound sign on my keyboard lol).

We can employ a higher risk staking I think with assumed higher strike rate strategies. If doing , I would strongly urge you to withdraw initial seed money once the bank has doubled to allow you to employ these higher risk strategies using OPM  – other people’s money.

Yesterday

Of the mentions yesterday, NEC Nijmegen are, well, the team that keep on giving. 0-2 yesterday and if I had bigger kahunas, I should have put them up. Malmo and Falkenbergs was a superb trading match ending 3-3 . Roda and Jong Twente’s magnificent over 2.5 goals stat came to fruition with a 2-2, which is a correct score I called correctly for www.drt.club members.

Marseille’s poor form was mentioned. They went on to lose 3-5. This is another reminder to you that it is as important to leave certain teams out of the final selections! Braga continued to keep it down to 1 goal conceded away but only managed a 1-1 draw. Again an excellent trading game. No official bets yesterday.

TODAY

The usual extremely busy Saturday and I’ll be researching all day. www.soccerstats.com was down yesterday

14:30 UK Borussia Dortmund v Eintracht Frankfurt – 1.33 home – the market tends to get it right with Dortmund. Frankfurt are shocking away from home, with no win in 8 away, conceding 3-4-2-3-4-3-3 in recent away matches. They have lost to 8th-17th inclusive away and Dortmund are 9th.

Only 2 losses in 10 for Dortmund were against top 3 sides.

15 of 19 home goals scored 2nd half.

This is all about how bad Frankfurt are away rather than how good, or otherwise, Dortmund are at home.

15:00 UK Cowdenbeath v Hearts – 1.36 away – just like NEC Nijmegen, Hearts don’t need to win, but they continue to win. No research done as yet

15:00 UK Hibernian v Alloa – 1.25 home – a battle for 2nd with Rangers for Hibs. No research done as yet.

15:00 UK Espanyol v Barcelona – 1.28 away – it’s the Chuckle Brothers in La Liga between Barca and Real Madrid “to me , to you”. One team has to win, then the other has to win and so it goes .

Espanyol are unbeaten in 6, keeping 4 clean sheets. 5 home clean sheets in 7 is equally as impressive. They have yet to beat the top 7 at home. Barcelona are undefeated in 7 away matches.13 wins in their last 15.

4 clean sheets in their last 6 matches. Scored 2+ goals in 7 of their last 8 matches.

Neymar and Suarez clicking at the right time too. A must win for Barcelona.

15:00 UK Salzburg v Ried – 1.2 home – thoroughly emphatic last week. No research done yet.

16:00 UK Paris Saint-Germain v Lille – 1.33 home

PSG

only 3 losses all season
3 match home winning streak
no defeat in 15 at home
scored and conceded in their last 5 matches and last 4 at home
scored and conceded in 8 of their last 9 matches.
failed to score in only 4 matches
consistent big scoring recently- 2-3-0-4-2-3-3-3
16 first half and 18 2nd half goals scored at home
Only 2 goals conceded first half at home
no opponent has led at PSG at home
Lille

3 match winning streak
no draw in 8 overall
6 wins in their last 7 matches
no win away v top 6
1/2 of away matches are 0-0 at halftime.

PSG are scoring at just the right time of the season. Head to heads have been historically tight but when needs much, and equal on points at the top with Lyon, PSG need to continue scoring the 3 they have. Lille have 6 wins in their last 7 matches so are in good form. BUT they are yet to win away to top 6

17:00 UK Atletico Madrid v Elche – 1.18 home – keep winning 2-0 in head to heads. No defeat in 8 at home. Scored 2 goals in each of their last 5 matches.6 clean sheets in 9 matches.7 wins in their last 8 homes.Have scored 2 goals by halftime in their last 5 matches.

Elche have lost all matches home and away v top 5. This is definitely on the shortlist!!

17:15 UK Bristol Rovers v Alfreton – 1.25 home – Conference National sees 2nd v 21st. Bristol Rovers and Barnet battle it out at the top. Rovers go top with a win.

515pm – Barnet v Gateshead – 1.31 home – as above. Top of the Conference National. No research done as yet.

17:30 UK Man City v Aston Villa – 1.25 home – here’s the deal. Lose away but win v dodgepots at home. Villa hangover to prevent a win today? Newcastle, Leicester, West Brom and West Ham all beaten to nil for City.  With both sides avoiding draws lately, it kind of navigates towards the home win. Caution to City. Villa have beaten 5th, 6th, 9th, 11th 0-1 away -all positives keeping a clean sheet.  2 wins for Villa in their last 3 aways v Sunderland and Spurs.

Villa were well organised and had an attacking threat against Liverpool but have they shot their bolt in reaching the FA Cup final? City seem to spit out sides like these of late at home, with ease.

Under Robin of Sherwood, Villa are not scoring, albeit it tends to be one goal!

17:30 UK Bayern Munich v Hertha Berlin – 1.14 home – I have phoned the delightful Rachel Riley from Countdown to help with the maths.Bayern are 7 points clear with a possible 15 remaining. Win today and they COULD be 10 points clear with 12 remaining ( depends on what the Wolf do!)

7 consecutive Bayern head to head wins, superb v Porto mid week, they do meet an inform Hertha with no defeat in 7, 5 clean sheets in 7, but rather ominously, losing away to all top 7 sides conceding 2+ goals in all bar 1 of those matches.

19:15 UK Plzen v Mlada Boleslav – 1.36 home – no research done as yet but I remember Plzen did well for us as a banker recently.

19:45 UK Limerick v Shamrock Rovers – 1.25 away – no research done as yet.

SHORTLIST by midday. I must crack on with the football research. I’ll leave the tennis now although I note Gael Monfils continues to be very impressive coming in at 1.25 and 1.33 odds in his current tournament.

TODAY’S BANKERS

15:00 UK Espanyol v Barcelona – 1.28 away – must win for Barcelona despite Espanyol being in solid form. They are yet to beat the top 7 at home. Barcelona need to win.

15:00 UK Salzburg v Ried – 1.2 home – 87% over 2.5 goals at home for Salzburg. 73% over 3.5 goals at home for Salzburg does suggest they’ll outscore Reid. 2-2-3-3-6 scored recently and 5-4-3-4-2-4 -2 scored recently by Salzburg in head to heads. I’ll trade out if 2-0.

17:00 UK Atletico Madrid v Elche – 1.18 home – Elche lose away to top 7. Atl Madrid tend to score 2 in head to heads and even 2 goals before halftime in their last 5 matches.

17:30 UK Bayern Munich v Hertha Berlin – 1.14 home – Hertha are in good form keeping 5 clean sheets in 7, but they have lost away to all top 7 sides conceding 2+ goals in all bar 1 of those matches. I hope Bayern are as emphatic as they were at home to Porto mid week.
