Selections for Sunday 22nd March 2015

I wrote an article for my eletter on this subject, focussing on Banker Bets and showing you how we can profit from them.

I’ll list some apparent “bankers” in this post, and time permitting, will try to do this daily. I try to look for 1.1 odds or higher. The goal is to win back your initial stake and bank that immediately, then play on, banking profits every £10 or so.

This is not a strategy where I’m trying to create the biggest odds returns. I want a “banker”, a bet which is obvious.

Bankers and Blowouts – the mini-DRT angle.

www.drt.club is my trading service where I do all of my football research. I have noticed that these bankers, whilst sometimes frustrating us with score draws and throwing away 2-0 leads, rarely lose matches. How can you profit? Well are you familiar with football trading? That is, reacting to how a match unfolds in-play? If you are then you would have taken on faith the fact that these bankers rarely lose, and layed Dundee in play , when they were 1-3 up to bankers Aberdeen. Final score ( as you see below), 3-3. How about more frustrating bar stewards like Club Brugge the other day against Mechelen.

Staying with our premis that Bankers rarely lose, what could you have done if Mechelen ( as they did) take the lead? Lay Mechelen! Better yet, what if the match was still 0-1 coming to 90 minutes? Lay Mechelen at lower odds for potentially greater profit! You know what happened next, I am sure. Club Brugge equalised in the 90th minute.

I have already mentioned the idea of laying a team 2-0 up, to lock in profit. Consider the above elements too , in order to maximise the premis that Bankers rarely lose.

Yesterday

BANKERS

15:00 UK Atletico Madrid v Getafe – 1.3 home – 2-0

15:00 UK Celtic v Dundee Utd – 1.22 home – 3-0

15:00 UK Tottenham v Leicester – 1.6 home – 3-2

14:00 UK Dinamo Zagreb v Istra – 1.14 home -4-1 – 1.17/1.18 I believe at the off.

Glad I left Benfica alone. They were just conceding too often away from home and paid the price yesterday of conceding again, red cards, and tight head to heads with Rio Ave. Porto could not take advantage with a poor 1-1 draw. Kicking themselves!!

I did back Man City at 1.12 after the West Brom red card so early on. The power of  flexibility .

Today

Please let me do the research first then I will update you.

Juve v Genoa is interesting but in Genoa we have a team with 3 1-0 wins and a loss v top 4 this season. With Juventus laughing heartily at Roma’s drawitis effectively handing them the title, I will leave this match alone. Juve have only lost one match all season and are on a 5 match winning streak at home so should be as competitive as their short odds suggest, but Genoa just seem to raise their game.

14:00 UK RC Mechelen v Lommel – 1.17 away – this match has the better banker profile. 8 match losing streak for Mechelen, who have conceded in their 14 at home. Mechelen tend to fail to score at home v top 6 sides. They have lost 16 of their last 19 matches. Lommel have beaten all bottom 5 away from home and all bottom 3 keeping 4 clean sheets in 5 matches. 7 clean sheets in their last 10 matches. Remember what I look for? Clean sheets is one of the keys.

14:45 UK Plzen v Slovan Liberec – 1.4 ( William Hill) 1.45 Betfair as I write home – I am worried about the odds. Plzen should be shorter but I suppose head to heads have been tight, and Slovan have a 1-1 with Plzen and lost only 1-0 away to 2nd in the league …BUT Slovan have conceded 2-1-3-3-2-3 in recent matches. Plzen have kept 5 clean sheets in 6 home matches. They have scored 6-3-3-1 since the winter break. 6-0 and 4-0 v bottom 3 sides at home so Plzen do look hot here , but the market is a tad high for that kind of profile

16:00 UK Hull v Chelsea – 1.5 away – 1-2-1-1-1-1 scored by Chelsea lately is a big concern given Hull will want the 3 points. Hull though have lost to all of the top 8 they have played so far at home. Hull have not beaten any team home or away in the top 10.

Chelsea have scored in their last 15 matches and are undefeated in 8. against 8th-16th inclusive, home and away, Chelsea have been superb , winning all bar 1.

I cannot discount the draw today for Chelsea and their recent goalscoring, or rather lack of it is s worry. If you cannot score more than 1 , then you need a clean sheet to win. Hull have scored recently.

16:30 UK Bayern Munich v Borussia M’gladbach – 1.2 home – 0-0 last time these 2 met.

Bayern Munich

6 match winning streak, 2 at home
no defeat in 12 home matches.
scored in their last 16 matches and in their last 12 at home.
all wins bar a 1-1 draw v Schalke at home
8 clean sheets kept at home. Not conceded more than 1 goal in a single match at home
no 0-0 at halftime in 9 of their last 10 matches.
scored 2+ goals at home bar 3rd and 5th.
no 0-0 at home
2 0-0’s at halftime at home
40 goals scored at home, and only 2 conceded each half.

Mgladbach

scored and conceded in their last 2 away matches.
no win in 3 away
no win away v top 12, losing to 2nd, 5th and 6th – tight 1-0, 1-0 2-1 defeats so Bayern should be on their game today
A 0-0 with Bayern earlier in the season
2 consecutive away score draws and threw away a 0-2 lead last match.
only 2 0-0’s away. 5 0-0’s at halftime away

Bayern had trouble scoring v 3rd and 5th at home, only 1 goal, and Mgladbach are 4th. So this might be a toughie for Munich today, who score 2+ outside the top 5 at home. Mgladbach have not won top 12 away , and losses were tight. So, like the Juve match, it would be nervy putting Bayern up today as bankers in what could be a very tight match.

Barcelona and Real Madrid have both scored in the last 17 head to heads which is a wonderful stat. Over 1.5 goals is 1.13 . Both teams to score is 1.47.

BANKERS

14:00 UK RC Mechelen v Lommel – 1.17 away – I like seeing clean sheets.

14:45 UK Plzen v Slovan Liberec – 1.4 ( William Hill) 1.45 Betfair as I write home – like Spurs yesterday this is a risky banker but 4-0 and 6-0 at home to bottom 3,5 clean sheets in 6 home matches, Slovan conceding 3-3-2-3 recently, all looks strong for Plzen. Yes I acknowledge tight head to heads, but hope Plzen continue to score as they have recently ( 6-3-3-1)

20:00 UK Barcelona v Real Madrid – 1.67 home – both teams to score is 1.47 and has come up in the last 17 meetings. I’ll take a chance on that recurring today.
