Selections for Saturday 20th December 2014

I wrote an article for my eletter on this subject, focussing on Banker Bets and showing you how we can profit from them.

I’ll list some apparent “bankers” in this post, and time permitting, will try to do this daily. I try to look for 1.1 odds or higher. The goal is to win back your initial stake and bank that immediately, then play on, banking profits every £10 or so.

This is not a strategy where I’m trying to create the biggest odds returns. I want a “banker”, a bet which is obvious.

Yesterday

Bayern won 1-2 and Porto 4-0. Send a thank you card to follicly-challenged super star Arjen Robben who came up with a 90th minute winner.

Today

12:45 UK Man City v Crystal Palace – 1.28 home – when 3 of your last 6 away goals are penalties it tells me there is trouble up front, and that is the case with Crystal palace. This may be a tight match., as Palace lost 1-0 to Man Utd and 2-1 to Arsenal. They should succumb eventually. City have scored in their last 13 matches. 3 clean sheets in 4 matches assumes then that City will score and hopefully keep a clean sheet.

15:00 UK Aberdeen v Kilmarnock – 1.44 home – the last 1.44 odds I put up here ended 1-1. That’s the risk with these higher odds ( from a banker perspective) I am taken by Aberdeen though due to their 5 clean sheets in 6 matches, scoring in their last 7 home matches, and only being beaten by Celtic in 5 wins in 6 matches. This is a match where I may trade out if Aberdeen score first and their odds reduce dramatically enough ( I should have done this with Wolfsburg last week)

Rangers at 1.17? Not today. They only won 0-1 against Livingston, have no win in 4 and have lost Ally McBeal as manager

15:00 UK – Hearts v Alloa – 1.19 home – Hearts won the last head to head with an 87th minute winner and I remember I put them up as a banker that day aswell. . 8 consecutive home wins and unbeaten this season, Hearts have failed to score in only 1 match. Yes, their home winning run will end at some stage, but today?

Only 1 win in 12 matches for Alloa suggests a draw will be their best result.
