Bankers or Blowouts

I wrote an article for my eletter on this subject, focussing on Banker Bets and showing you how we can profit from them.

I’ll list some apparent “bankers” in this post, and time permitting, will try to do this daily. I try to look for 1.1 odds or higher. The goal is to win back your initial stake and bank that immediately, then play on, banking profits every £10 or so.

This is not a strategy where I’m trying to create the biggest odds returns. I want a “banker”, a bet which is obvious.

Bankers and Blowouts – the mini-DRT angle.

www.drt.club is my trading service where I do all of my football research. I have noticed that these bankers, whilst sometimes frustrating us with score draws and throwing away 2-0 leads, rarely lose matches. How can you profit? Well are you familiar with football trading? That is, reacting to how a match unfolds in-play? If you are then you would have taken on faith the fact that these bankers rarely lose, and layed Dundee in play , when they were 1-3 up to bankers Aberdeen. Final score ( as you see below), 3-3. How about more frustrating bar stewards like Club Brugge the other day against Mechelen.

Staying with our premis that Bankers rarely lose, what could you have done if Mechelen ( as they did) take the lead? Lay Mechelen! Better yet, what if the match was still 0-1 coming to 90 minutes? Lay Mechelen at lower odds for potentially greater profit! You know what happened next, I am sure. Club Brugge equalised in the 90th minute.

I have already mentioned the idea of laying a team 2-0 up, to lock in profit. Consider the above elements too , in order to maximise the premis that Bankers rarely lose.

Just an added note regarding staking. If the strike rate remains as high as it is, I would recommend staying with level stakes, but re-calculating every 20 bets  which would have produced a bank of 747 pounds from an initial 100 pounds in November. Increasing the frequency to re-calculating 10% of the betting bank every 10 bets does extract a little more profit.

Plenty to ponder there. If you increase the % of bank bet, of course, then things really start getting exciting ( but ever the cautious, I’d have to warn you that it would be a big fall from grace if we hit a losing run)

At this juncture, level stakes is the only realistic staking option as some bets kick off at the same time. If you wanted other options, then select one bet at one time, as long as the next bet began after the 1st bet ended. This way you could employ “reactive” staking.

By selecting one bet for a specific time, the number of bets reduces from 225 to 137. Is there any advantage in reactive staking? Let’s take a look.

http://www.thestakingmachine.com/pro.php is the staking plan of interest, betting 20% of the bank ( as the assumed strike rate will continue to be high), turned 100 pounds on 22 November 2014 into 1356.48 as of today. ( as you can tell I don’t have apound sign on my keyboard lol).

We can employ a higher risk staking I think with assumed higher strike rate strategies. If doing , I would strongly urge you to withdraw initial seed money once the bank has doubled to allow you to employ these higher risk strategies using OPM  – other people’s money.

Yesterday

Well, well, well. Krasnador let a 1-0 and 2-1 lead and the result? 2-2. Real Madrid won 1-4 . I traded the Sevilla and Valencia teams as they both conceded first.

Today

Plzen, Besiktas, Fiorentina, Napoli,  and Dundalk are the shorties today. I need to research them. As things stand, Napoli look like bankers . Besiktas. Well, 2 times odds on shots, and 2 1-1 draws. Sequentially, this 1-1 draw sequence should end.

I’ll be back once research has been done.

Plzen play at 5pm at home v Vysochina. Head to heads were uncomfortably tight for a 1.17 shot today.

No draw in 13 for Plzen suggests home win or away win ( 50/50 chance).12 wins in 14 matches. 6 clean sheets in 8 matches.Plzen have scored in all home matches.

Vyso have scored and conceded in 6 of their last 7 aways. They did lose 3-0 and 2-0 away v 2nd and 3rd.

6pm – Besiktas v Torku – Konyaspor – 1.28 home – re-arrange this word – pots dodge. Besiktas. 2 consecutive 1-1 draws when under 1.5 odds has killed their season. They do have a game in hand though over 1st and 2nd so a win today will bring them closer. 3 matches remain so mathematically in with a shout but must win.

Faith in the 1-1 draw sequence ending? Konyaspor only lost recently 1-0 to Galatasary so will be tough to beat. They have not won v 15th and higher away. That does not discount the draw of course.

6pm – Fiorentina v Parma – 1.25 home – Parma relegated  – 2-2-4-4 conceded in their last 4 away matches. They failed to score away v top 5 sides. No draw in 7 for Fiorentina again suggests home win or away win.

2-3-3 scored by Fior in their last 3 matches.

8pm – Napoli v Cesena – 1.19 home – 1-4 Napoli last head to head. 3rd place still available to Napoli but must win. Cesena are down. Nearly 3 goals average scored  last 6 matches. No win in 10 for Cesena. They have conceded 3-0-3-3 in their last 4 matches. All defeats away v top 6.

8pm – UCC v Dundalk – 1.27 away – University College Cork ( where my Mum went to University!!) v Premier Division 1st placers Dundalk Little to go on in this League Cup match. I do logically expect the away team to win. I wonder if they’ll call my Mum up for the 2nd half if still 0-0.

TODAY’S BANKERS

At this time of the year, I don’t want to be selecting bankers and want to use these matches personally for trading. Look at Krasnador yesterday. 2-2 draw again but at 1-1, I did lay the 1-1 so profited. Real Madrid were solid. 0-0 at halftime allowed a profit to be made as goals were expected 2nd half, and they came. Another 1-1 draw which was tradeable 2nd half too.

Today, Besiktas must end a 1-1 sequence but have been shown as unreliable.  Fiorentina look solid enough and as I like to see, Parma failed to score away v top 5. If they failed to score, ergo Fiorentina only need to score to win ( theoretically anyway). Napoli standout as my bankers today . I like seeing the goals scored by Napoli, the head to head away from home, and all defeats for Cesena v top 6.

I cannot see UCC winning today. But putting up an Irish Premier League match as a banker is asking for trouble.

I would put up Fiorentina and Napoli today as bankers but strange things happen at this part of the season ( ask Valencia yesterday – only a 1-1 draw). I will definitely be looking at playing this shortlist of matches in-play and with the help of in-play stats.

For instance, Zimbabwe yesterday were 1.45 to beat Mauritius. Inplay stats were emphatic. 15+ shots to 2 for Zimbabwe. That looked like an in-play banker but would never have been a traditional pre-match banker.

I do hope you can profit from this research but hope you realise my reluctance in putting any official bankers up. As I have said before, 3rd week of April should have been cut off date really .
