Selections for Thursday 18th December 2014

I wrote an article for my eletter on this subject, focussing on Banker Bets and showing you how we can profit from them.

I’ll list some apparent “bankers” in this post, and time permitting, will try to do this daily. I try to look for 1.1 odds or higher. The goal is to win back your initial stake and bank that immediately, then play on, banking profits every £10 or so.

This is not a strategy where I’m trying to create the biggest odds returns. I want a “banker”, a bet which is obvious.

Yesterday

530pm – Olympiakos ( Oly) v Panionios – 1.12 home – 2-0

8pm – Vizela v Sp Lisbon – 1.13 away – 2-3 win

Today

I cannot discount the draw in the Cagliari v Juventus match where Juve are 1.4 favourites. 3 score draws for Cagliari at home to top 6 shows battling qualities.

Ahh, the Turkish Cup – as appealing as being stuck in a lift with Noel Edmunds. League Leaders Besiktas take on 18th in the Super Lig Rizespor. Besiktas do have only 3 defeats in 26 cup matches at home.

Atl Madrid are 1.01 shots v L’Hospitalet and these odds suggest a big scoreline. Tough to turn 1.01 into backable odds. Back over 4.5 goals perhaps? It is the Copa del rey .

Napoli are in poor form and have lost the last 2 head to heads v bottom basement Parma. No win in 4 matches for Napoli. Glass half full and I’d back them today to end that sequence against a team in very poor form this season. PArma have lost all matches home and away v top 10. NApoli let us down before as bankers by drawing.

Ath Bilbao have an excellent record in the Copa del rey at home, only beaten by Real Madrid, Barca ( twice) and Atl Madrid.Alcoyano though have conceded 0-0-0-0-1 in recent Copa matches.

These are the shorties matches today. And I suppose if pressed, I would look for a goals bet or a halftime/fulltime bet on 1.01 shots Atl Madrid. All of the other matches tend to be in the cup.  Napoli let us down recently as bankers at home ( although it was a profitable match for me as they came back from 0-2 down!) They need a win and needs must. They play bottom side Parma who intriguingly have beaten Napoli in head to heads. I would expect recent form to supercede historic form today

No official bankers for me today though.
