Jumps racing is about to make a welcome return to Cheltenham.

And therefore, it is also a great opportunity to check out the past winner trends for some of the big races tomorrow… I can’t promise you another 25/1 winner though!

Let’s begin with Saturday’s 13:50 at Cheltenham:

Five winners from trainer Phillips Hobbs includes four of the winners in the last five runnings. Where do you think we should start our focus in this race?

Lamb or Cod each way for me. It seems Mr. Hobbs tends to target this race.

15:00 Cheltenham:

Only seven previous runnings of this race. For the last two runnings, the second favourite has won.

As the race is a seven runner race, Backing the second favourite each way looks like the interesting play here.

16:05 Cheltenham:

Lay the favourite, it would seem, in this race.

Alternatively, look at a horse at odds of around 9/1 to 11/1 and Back said horse each way. The last three winners have come from this odds range that suggests clear outsiders may not get a look in.

But those just creeping into double figure odds may be worth an each way shout.

16:40 Cheltenham:

No winning favourite in the last six runnings of this race. I would look again for a second favourite each way or a horse no higher than 5/1 each way.

17:15 Cheltenham:

This is the final race to look at and, as seems a theme here, the second favourite has had a good run, winning five of the first six runnings.

Only two winning favourites in the last ten suggests we look at a horse at around 7/2 to 4/1 and Back it each way.

Have a great weekend – hope you profit!
