August’s issue of What Really Wins Money is undergoing its final touches. And you don’t need to be as intelligent as David Beckham to guess there’s a heavy football slant to this month’s newsletter.

I ask readers whether they have their niches picked as I believe specialisation is the key to football profits this season. Six niche areas come in for discussion.

Do you have a footballing plan this season? Are there specific markets you’ll focus on? Is there a league you know more than most about around which you can base your betting decisions?

Whatever your niche, I’d recommend www.soccerstats.com as your friend throughout! It is a website which is growing each year and it has a wealth of stats that will cover your chosen niche.

The Patriarch, our resident betting systems man, tackles the beautiful game this month too (no not Olympic women’s beach volleyball – behave), with a simple strategy for Over 2.5 goals (another niche) and a neat trick to Lay by Backing!

Interesting. It’s called ‘variable profit dutching’ and is a great strategy to load up profit on the team you fancy while effectively taking out insurance by covering the second team.

Also this month, I introduce readers to the world of greyhound racing. It is an area I have flirted with in the past. This time I’m going to persist.

My article is a foundation article looking at the various race types and race grades. Did you know there are handicap dog races and hurdle dog races? The jockeys must be really tiny for the hurdle dog races…

I also look at the various bets that are available to your average dog punter.

That word ‘niche’ rears its head again! I think if we specialise, we can profit from the dogs. Specialisation could mean a focus on the best traps at a venue, a close look solely at handicap races or an approach based on the top dog races, known as ORs (Open Races). I’ll be looking to create a greyhound section for www.whatreallywinsmoney.co.uk.

Back to the gee-gees and I share my TOR strategy with readers. You’d think horses top rated by the Racing Post, the industry standard newspaper, would be rich pickings for the Backers. Well, you couldn’t be further from the truth. It is a Layers’ paradise!

There’s also an update on my concept of ‘Doubling Your Betting Bank In A Week’ in the newsletter. The idea is to spread an evens bet out over a week. It’s practical, and it’s profitable. So much so, it’s made its way into my betting portfolio.

Short odds do not need to be immediately dismissed. Use them creatively! I’ll show you how to in a jam-packed newsletter.

Footy-tastic!

My girlfriend becomes a football widow from now until April, as all things footy take over my life and my football trading service www.drt.club cranks right into gear.

This early season, when there is no form to work with, I would recommend to you football punters to approach the markets from a neutral perspective.

Neutral bets include

• The number of corners

• Number of goals scored

You get the idea? A neutral bet is a bet involving both teams.

I only get involved In-Play this early season. With In-Play betting all the rage, I confine myself only to the In-Play markets. I’d recommend the same for you if you can, as many teams have new managers, players, tactics and will perform differently to last year.

So be reactive in the early part of the season. Betting without form is dangerous.

Here are a couple of ideas from www.drt.club.

Look for Red Cards! Red cards change games. I challenge you to check out the results this weekend and see how many times the awarding of a red card has changed the match.

Look also for a 0 – 0 at half-time. Below is a screengrab fromwww.flashscore.com:

Even those morons at Deportivo Moron (my new favourite team) saw a 0 – 0 at half-time and 0 – 1 second half.

I hope you enjoy the new football season. I’ll be busier than Donald Trump’s comb-over artist on a windy day this season with www.drt.club.

Have a great weekend – may the team you support ‘do a Leicester’ this season.
