There are four races tonight for those staying in, wanting a flutter.
I’ll pass on what catches my eye this evening from the At the Races website.
In race one, at 7.30pm, five of the last eight meetings have been won by European trainers, so short-list horses whose trainers include A.P. O’Brien, John Gosden, and Richard Fahey. Only a handful of horses, so these guys are up against it numbers-wise.
I would side with Cymric and Hit It a Bomb each way in that 7.30pm race.
Only one favourite in the last eight races has won this race, but by betting each way, I hope to cover the places.
The 8.10pm race this evening sees Liam’s Map as very warm 4/6 favourite, where only one favourite has won in the last eight races. This race has seen one odds-on winner from one runner.
The consensus here is that Lea, the provisional second-favourite, is the proverbial each way bet to nothing.
Illuminate is the horse in the 8.50pm race at Keeneland, generally fancied by the professionals. At 11/2 he is another each way play.
Alice Springs is the favourite here, but Aiden O’Brien, the trainer, has a 0-6 record in this race.
The 9.35pm race is the last main race at Keeneland this evening. It sees Wedding Toast as the strong favourite and the feeling is that this race is very competitive, so a short-priced favourite might be worth taking on, despite being Timeform’s pick.
Stellar Wind would seem to be the each way alternative if Wedding Toast has problems in running.

If you want a break from the gee-gees, then there’s the small matter of the Rugby World Cup Final tomorrow, which sees New Zealand installed as 1.46 favourites at Betfair. These odds are far too short for a match of this import, especially with Australia having beaten New Zealand 27-19 as recently as August this year.
I will be hoping that New Zealand score first and then lay them on Betfair at odds shorter than their current odds today.
New Zealand to be winning halftime/fulltime is too short for me at 1.98 on Betfair and I will do that. It worked in their semi-final where New Zealand were not winning at halftime.
