What a week it’s been for my each way picks: 14/1, 20/1 and 8/1 winners – and it’s all freely available. I must be crazy!

Members of What Really Wins Money can access my each way selections for free at www.whatreallywinsmoney.co.uk, and one such reader is some 65 points in profit on the win-only part of the bets.

I know a couple of people who have just joined What Really Wins Money for the tips alone!

‘Lucky them’ I say, as they also get a monthly newsletter packed with other profit-making betting strategies, as well as a service which steers you towards profitable services and away from those which are performing terribly.

Give us a try: you literally have little to lose. I think you might be pleasantly surprised!

Champions League Final angles?

The Champions League Final is staged in a weekend of superb sporting events, including the PGA at Wentworth, which sees Rory McIlroy in rare form with two eagles yesterday (and a few centimetres from a glorious albatross) and the Monaco Grand Prix.

As for the PGA, well I think Thomas Bjorn is far too short at odds of 4.4 to win on Betfair, despite his course record 62 on Thursday.

I will be laying him (although laying at these odds is not ideal liability wise, I do think we have three days and countless world-class golfers in our favour), and hope that he falls foul at some stage. It takes a single misjudgement to unravel at this course. (As I write Bjorn is already out to 4.7!!)

On to the Champions League, and I’ll stick my neck out here: the team from Madrid will win! It’s an intriguing match, and I would normally advise Delay React Trade members to leave these one-off matches alone, as there is no real form we can consider and tactics will be based on a 90-minute match only.

Real Madrid threw away the league title, quite literally, with an ill-judged capitulation at Celta Vigo, when, unbeknownst to their manager, Atletico Madrid and Barcelona dropped points when they were expected to win.

Will Real Madrid have the fresher players, having picked a ‘B’ team for the final matches of the league season?

Atletico Madrid have literally been full-steam ahead, and only needed a draw at Barcelona to secure the title. The 2014 meetings between these two teams have seen two Copa Del Rey matches and a league match. Real Madrid won the Copa matches 3-0 and 0-2. The league match ended 2-2.

In the last ten Champions League Finals, it seems there is no sitting back and hoping for an opening. We’ve seen the following scorelines: 3-0, 3-3, 2-1, 2-1, 1-1, 2-0, 2-0, 3-1, 1-1, 2-1.

Six of these matches brought home the over 2.5 goals. Is that an angle in today?

Atletico Madrid have not won their last three matches, and have two consecutive 1-1 draws. Is this a sequence which will continue into tomorrow’s match?

It does look rather logical as an opening gambit, as it’s a scoreline which keeps the ‘at least 2 goals in the last 10 matches’ sequence in tact, and it’s a scoreline which remains ‘alive’ whoever opens the scoring.

I can’t help thinking that Ancelotti’s resting of the ‘big boys’ may work in Real Madrid’s favour. What do you think?

As for Monaco, it seems a weekend dominated by Mercedes, so say the experts (my weekend will be dominated by a Mitsubishi Space Wagon but that’s another story).

At 1.25 on Betfair, Mercedes to be the winning car must be layed surely? Let’s not forget these guys have to actually finish the race, and small error in judgement could be extremely costly. This seems to be the only value available, as Mercedes dominance in the betting market has shortened odds.

Le Open de la Frogs…

Yes, The French Open will be with us next week, and it’s a great time for you to brush up on your tennis trading.

Remember to monitor top-ten male and female players in the early rounds, and back them if they lose the first set, and preferably if they lose the first set and get broken immediately in the second set.

These players are primed for the French Open, so are unlikely to slip up, even if losing the first set. If one of these players faces match point in the early rounds, that is a good time to back them to get themselves out of a fix.

It’s a good old strategy and serves me well in the major tennis tournaments. As to tennis research, I have pointed to this in earlier eletters…

Simply visit http://www.atpworldtour.com for the men and use the head-to-heads facility, and www.wtatennis.com for the women.

Head-to-heads are an excellent starting point. Look too at rankings: the bigger the rankings gap, generally, the more confident we should be.

Form on the surface is important too. Some players excel on certain surfaces. Betfair provides excellent stats at https://betting.betfair.com/stats/, so do take a look.

I’m off now to hide the remote control and ready myself for a bumper sports weekend.
